WHO WE ARE

Egnatia is Greek Group of Companies providing end to end services in the technical field. It was founded in 1989 by the families of Papapetrou and Nikolaidis and is set to meet the needs of the construction-technology society as well as the needs of the industry.

Egnatia Group is present in more than 8 countries and consists of more than 9 companies with various business directions.

The group outnumbers more than 500 and is consisted of high skilled personnel with advanced educational profile. The objective of the Egnatia Group is to engage efficiently , responsibly and responsibly complete services and to participate in the development of products and services involving the latest technology achievements.

TOP MANAGEMENT

Paraskevi Beni Papapetrou

Mrs. Papapetrou was born in 1956 in Thessaloniki city and did her basic education in the same city. She has graduated as civil engineer in 1977 from Aristotele University in Thessaloniki and stared ever since to develop structural designs, studies and constructions along with contractors.

She is married since 1978 and has 2 children both of which are civil engineers possessing key roles on the group.

Nikos Papapetrou

Mr. Papapetrou was born in 1979 in Thessaloniki and did his basic education in the same city. He graduated in 2003 from the department of Civil Engineer of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and in 2004 concluded the MSc in Steel Design and Business Management in Imperial College of London.

In 2004 he joined Egnatia Group and since 2008 is the CEO of Egnatia TEL, he is married since 2008 and has two children.

Giannis Ballas

Mr. Ballas was born in 1974 in Thessaloniki city and did his basic education in the same city.

He has graduated from Aristotele University of Thessaloniki on 1997, department of Economic and Finance Faculty (Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Accounting/Finance) and he made his postgraduate studies (MSc) in University of Birmingham, UK(MSc in Accounting and Finance).

He joined Egnatia Group in 2001 and from 2006 up to now is the CFO of Egnatia TEL.

George Chochlakis

Mr George Chochlakis holds a Civil engineering infrastructure degree from Alexander Technological Institute of Thessaloniki, 1998.

He worked as a freelancer working with companies to design, supervision and construction of private and public works until 2005, when he began working with the Egnatia Group initially as an engineer of buildings project and further in Project Management.

Since 2009 he has been involved in the energy and telecommunication sectors.

Charalampos Christanas

Charalampos Christanas is a graduate of the Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), as Electrical Engineer – Telecommunication section. Prior to joining Egnatia TEL he was a researcher at AUTH. Today he is responsible Engineer for the implementation-management of the following projects:

Installation-Activation of telecommunication base stations 2G-3G-LTE, MW links, automation systems for telecommunication base stations, power systems, ADSL equipment.

Moisis Damianidis

Mr. Damianidis was born in 1979 in Giannitsa city and did his basic education in the same city. He has graduated as an electrical engineer from the Engineering Faculty of Aristotele University in 2002 and made his postgraduate (MSc) in Hellenic Open University in Technical Project Management .

Starting with 2004 he joined Egnatia Group and since 2008 is the Managing Director of Egnatia Energy and since 2012 he is the Business Development Manager on the Renewables Sector of Egnatia Group. He is married since 2010 and has one daughter.

Marios Diplas

Mr. Marios Diplas joined Egnatia’s Group management team in 2004 undertaking the expansion plan actions of the Group in Bulgaria and from 2014 he serves also as CEO of Egnatia Macedonia. He has extensive experience in telecommunications, renewable energy and buildings sectors into which he achieved to introduce and establish Egnatia Bulgaria as one of the main local and regional market players.

Mr Diplas holds an MSc in Architecture from the University of Architecture Civil Engineering and Geodesy of Sofia – Bulgaria and he speaks fluent Greek, English and Bulgarian.

Nikos Kontakos

Mr Nikos Kontakos holds a Dimploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from A.U.T.H., and an MSC in Microwaves & Optoelectronics from U.C.L..

He is working in Egnatia TEL since 2003 and has been holding the following positions: field, supervisor and technical support engineer, project, account and country manager in various projects and countries.

His interests are in the area of mobile and fixed telephony, networks and technologies.

Ioannis Kontinos

Mr Ioannis Kontinos is a graduate of the Università degli Studi di Napoli 'Parthenope' as a mechanical engineer.

He is working to Egnatia Group of Companies since 1997 and he is General Technical Coordinator of the following projects: Construction of Telecommunication base stations, BSC and MSC Telecom buildings of several mobile operators.

George Kordalis

Is a graduate in Information Engineering of the University of Milan Italy and joined Egnatia Group in 2001 as technical responsible in the new automated steel manufacturing unit of Egnatia Aettek. In 2005 Joined Egnatia Tel as telecom filed engineer for installation and activation of 2G-3G-MW base stations in Greece and Bulgaria.

From 2008 up to 2011 has been quality and procurement manager of Egnatia Tel. From 2011 he is the CEO of Egnatia Aettek steel structures.

Thomas Melitsis

Mr Thomas Melitsis is working in Egnatia TEL since 1998 and started from site acquisition in GSM networks implementation. Participate in projects in Albania, Bulgaria, FYROM and eventually was situated in Romania in 2005. Since 2008 was appointed General Manager in Egnatia Rom.

His interests are in the area of Renewable Energy, GSM networks deployment, General Constructions.

Nikos Papaoikonomou

Mr Papaoikonomou holds a degree at Civil Engineering from A.U.T.H. and an MSc at Project Management from U.C.L.

He joined Egnatia Energy team in 2011 and he has managed solar projects in Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

From April 2013 he is permanently located at Istanbul where he acts as Operations Manager for the Group’s Turkish affiliate, Tegnatia.

Lefteris Pliakos

Mr Pliakos graduated from the Technical University of Greece with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2006 he completed his MSc in Computer Science at the Aristotle University in Greece.

He has over 10 years’ experience, having held international technical and management positions with Egnatia Group in Greece, Albania, F.Y.R.O.M. He has been employed in EGN Projects UK as a General Manager and now he is also Regional Director of METKA EGN for UK and Ireland.

Zacharias Semertzidis

Mr. Zacharias Semertzidis is a graduate of the Department of Forestry of Larissa Institute of Technology, 1993.

He is working to Egnatia Group of Companies since 1995 and he has been responsible supervisor for the implementation and management of the following projects: Construction of Telecommunication base stations, BSC and MSC Telecom buildings of several mobile operators. (TELESTET_GR, COSMOTE_GR, WIND_GR, COSMOFON_FYROM and AMC_AL).

Since 2008 is the General Manager of EGNATIA O. ALBANIA Company.

From the year of its foundation till today, Egnatia Group has grown considerably in both capabilities and experience, expanding its operation to many new promising markets. Driven by our passion of innovation, we continue to grow our business activity and create technologies that can change the future of the construction sector.

    Egnatia is founded in Thessaloniki Greece.
    Main activity was the construction together with the design & study of construction.

  • 1993

    Egnatia is involved in major GSM projects in Greece as “turn key” contractor.

  • 1999

    Egnatia sets up Shelter factory.

  • 1999

    Egnatia sets up Egnatia foundry.

  • 1999

    Egnatia sets up Egnatia AETTEK (metallic structures factory).

  • 2000

    Egnatia is among the 3 top GSM contractors in Greece.

  • 2001


    Egnatia Albania is founded.

  • 2002


    Egnatia Skopje is founded.

  • 2003


    Egnatia Bulgaria is founded.

  • 2005


    Egnatia Romania is founded.

  • 2006


    Egnatia sets up Egnatia Energy_Greece.

    Egnatia and T dinamik join forces to set up T-Egnatia (Turkey).
